+ Where exactly are we going?
We are going to Villas Playa Maderas. They do not have an address so the best way to explain where it would be like this: 8 Km north San Juan del Sur, San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. Here is a link to the google maps: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Villas+Playa+Maderasfirstname.lastname@example.org,-85.91079,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x81a5ceda38e83c78
+ How do I get there?
Buy this flight to Liberia Airport from NYC: From the airport everything is taken care of, just look for people with SurfYogaBeer tank tops. You can always email us and we can accomodate your situation.
+ What is the preferred currency in Playa Maderas? And how much should I bring?
Everyone accepts American greenback but they will usually give you back the change in the Costa Rican currency, colones. We prefer to use colones so we are Nicaragan currency. Exchange about $250 US Dollars, and if you love to buy souvenirs many places have ATM’s and may even take credit cards. If you go into banks with your passport, you can also use your bank debit cards to withdraw larger sums of cash than the limited daily withdrawal amounts the ATMs allow
+ Is there a caretaker and house keeping?
Yes they live on the property full-time, providing 24/7 security services and taking care of the pool, garden and your bedroom everyday.
+ Are there any TVs or DVD players on the property?
We are firmly committed to providing a TV-free environment for our guests. There are a lot of great places in the world to watch TV or play video games, but SurfYogaBeer is not one of them.
+ Do you have high-speed Internet at the house?
Yes, every villa will have its own internet connection, but it is not rocket fast like you may be accustomed to in the U.S.
+ Will I be able to wash my clothes?
Yes, so sweat away all you want.
+ Are the power outlets the same in Nicaragua as in the United States?
Nicaragua has the same voltage and frequency – 110V 60Hz - and uses the same plug and outlet designs as in the U.S. so you don't need an adapter or converter.
+ Do I need to bring swim vests/floats, toys, games, books, beach toys, or beach towels, beach chairs or beach umbrellas?
If you want this to be a water party then yes bring your own blow up flamingo, otherwise there will be a small variety of things.
+ What’s up with theft?
Be safe and you won’t be sorry. Crime is Playa Maderas is usually of the petty theft variety, typified by small time thieves seeking cash or things they can readily turn into cash electronics like laptops, iPhones and cameras. Don’t flaunt jewelry or cash and keep your valuables secured and locked up in the hidden storage bodegas and mini-safes we provide in each room when you are not using them. Do not take anything of value down to the beach unless it is tightly attended. Also don’t worry we are always sticking with our SYB group so we will all keep an eye out for these sorts of things.
