When you think of Africa, Kenya's landscape is usually what people imagine. Located in East of the continent with a coastline on the Indian Ocean. It encompasses savannah, lakelands, the dramatic Great Rift Valley and mountain highlands.
Nairobi
Kenya's capital urban core also borders the Nairobi National Park, a large game reserve known for breeding endangered black rhinos. Near the city you'll also find the Giraffe Centre and Elephant Orphanage, set up to protect and preserve endangered species.
National Parks
There are some 54 National Parks and Reserve across Kenya - preserving wildlife and landscape. The oldest park was formed in 1946. 4x4 safaris are the most popular way to explore this epic landscape and an important contributor to Kenya's economy.
Wildebeest Migration
Two million wildebeest make the annual migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania into Kenya's Masai Mara. Watching them cross the Mara river is a spectacular sight to behold!
The Big Five
Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and African Buffalo. Originally named 'the big five' for being at the top of most hunters lists, as they were considered the most difficult five to shoot whilst on foot. Thankfully the aim has now shifted to shooting these magnificent beast with cameras rather than guns

GETTING THERE
DETAIL TBA - For now we begin our adventure the morning of, so if you can arrive the night before or morning same day. Regardless which flight you take we will meet at either Jomo Kenyatta International Airport NBO at 11am or at our hotel Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence or latest at Nairobi Arboretum at 12pm. If you arrive anytime after 1pm inform us since we'll be exploring Nairobi's elephant orphanage and giraffe center!
COMING HOME
We will be arriving at Nairobi in the afternoon and recommend getting a later flight.
Please see and ask your doctor about traveling to Kenya and it's remote regions.
Please do not wait until the last minute, some medicine requires to be taken one week before travel.
Also here are useful government websites:

You'll want to wear light clothes for the day and warm layers for the evenings, because morning game drives in open vehicles will be cold! Remember you'll be traveling a lot too, so try to minimize to a few really solid outfits.
Plan that you won't be doing any washing. We're heading to remote regions of Kenya. Of course a few hotels might provide washing services, but you can definitely count on additional costs if they do have this service.
We'll be riding in 4x4 jeeps the whole adventure. They are 7-seaters, our drivers also double as our guides, speak English and have plenty of stories and jokes to tell on our long journeys.
