The Real Africa
The Real Africa
We'll pick you up at the airport, check in, meet each other and head to the Giraffe Centre and Elephant Orphanage. Here we get our first feel for Kenya! But it's just the beginning. Later in the afternoon we'll get our sweat on, stretch from your long ass flight with some yoga and chill by the pool. We cap our first day with dinner in Nairobi! Welcome to Africa!
Great Rift Valley
Day two and we kick things off by traveling to the exotic Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley. We'll do a game drive, see some Rothschild's giraffe, lions and leopards. Watch out for the large python snakes that inhabit the dense woodlands and can be seen crossing the roads or dangling from trees! Get ready for your photo op, this park is also often shimmering with flamingo pink from thousands of those sexy birds.
After breakfast its straight to the 4x4 for a morning game drive. Flamingo, endangered Rothschild giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, impala, buffalo, warthog and a variety of birdlife, how many can you spot?! Bonus points if you see a warthog and meerkat hanging out, especially if they have a lion cub with them. If you're down we'll explore Hell's Gate National Park - by mountain bike! Stepping out of the confines of the 4x4 and really getting to know this incredible landscape. At home, sample beautifully made local cuisines as we share stories of the days adventures over drinks!
We'll wake up early, get our sweat and breakfast on, then jump on a boat tour to Crescent Island to visit some resident hippos and fish eagles. Strap on your hiking boots, as we take a walking safari to explore more of the island. Recharging on our 4-hour journey to Masai Mara, with a lunch stop at Narok (a hustlin' and bustlin' little town). Once in Masai Mara, it's time to grab our 4x4 to explore more undulating landscape, on our afternoon game drive. There's nothing quite like watching the sun go down and seeing the glow in a lions eyes. What a day!
Rise and shine! Today we take an early morning game drive in the reserve all pre-breakfast.! We'll throw in some fun fitness games around the lodge, then pack a lunch and head into the park in search of its popular residents. Watching out for the well known predators, and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippo...and the dangerous Crocodiles with a visit to the Mara river.
A Local Experience
The air is crisp, temperatures are still cool - can spot Africa's top predators returning from their hunts on our morning game drive?! Later we drop by a Masai village and a school for some fun with the locals! Expect to experience traditional dancing and village life. Adrenaline is running high, so we'll take some time out to relax in our swimming pool. Followed by yoga as the majestic African sun sets.
Back to Nairobi
After breakfast we'll depart the Masai Mara and head across acres of rolling wheat and barley farms to Narok. From there we'll cross the vast plains of the Rift Valley whilst keeping an eye our for herds of giraffe and gazelle. We'll arrive into Kenya's bustling capital city, Nairobi, in the early afternoon. If there is time before your flight we'll grab lunch at a local restaurant together.
Until next time... or until we throw our next party because this friendship just started!
CHECK OUT WHAT'S INCLUDED
Because of Kenya's long-standing relationship with foreign settlers, and its colonization by the British, the various tastes, cooking methods and presentation of Kenyan foods have been greatly influenced by the Indians, Arabs, Europeans, and Pakistanis, as well as some western countries.
When you think of Africa, Kenya's landscape is usually what people imagine. Located in East of the continent with a coastline on the Indian Ocean. It encompasses savannah, lakelands, the dramatic Great Rift Valley and mountain highlands.
Kenya's capital urban core also borders the Nairobi National Park, a large game reserve known for breeding endangered black rhinos. Near the city you'll also find the Giraffe Centre and Elephant Orphanage, set up to protect and preserve endangered species.
Two million wildebeest make the annual migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania into Kenya's Masai Mara. Watching them cross the Mara river is a spectacular sight to behold!

Also here are useful government websites:
You'll want to wear light clothes for the day and warm layers for the evenings, because morning game drives in open vehicles will be cold! Remember you'll be traveling a lot too, so try to minimize to a few really solid outfits.
Plan that you won't be doing any washing. We're heading to remote regions of Kenya. Of course a few hotels might provide washing services, but you can definitely count on additional costs if they do have this service.
We'll be riding in 4x4 jeeps the whole adventure. They are 7-seaters, our drivers also double as our guides, speak English and have plenty of stories and jokes to tell on our long journeys.
