YOUR GUIDE TO SURF YOGA BEER NICARAGUA
Welcome to Nicaragua 🌴
You didn’t just sign up for a trip. You answered a call to chase waves, move your body, and live the kind of week most people only dream about. You are about to wake up with the ocean outside your window, move through sunrise workouts that light you up, surf until your arms give out, and dance barefoot under a sky full of stars.
Some nights you will stay up laughing with someone you just met but somehow already know. Some mornings you will surprise yourself with how alive you feel. Strong, clear, and light. And somewhere between the workouts, the waves, and the long dinners overlooking the sea, something inside you will shift.
Because when you move with intention, say yes to new experiences, and live fully in the moment, everything opens up.
Let this week be more than a vacation. Let it be a reminder of who you are when nothing is holding you back.
🗓️ Detailed Itinerary
Don’t get too attached to the plans here... to improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.
✈️ Arrival & Departure Details
Your adventure begins and ends in Playa Maderas, Nicaragua. You have two options for arrival:
Option 1: Fly into Managua International Airport (MGA) in Nicaragua. This is the most direct route, and the drive to our villas takes about two and a half hours.
Option 2: Fly into Liberia International Airport (LIR) in Costa Rica. This route includes a scenic three-hour drive with a border crossing into Nicaragua. We can connect you with a trusted driver if needed.
Plan to arrive by 3:00 PM on the first day to catch the group shuttle. Once you arrive at the villas, drop your bags, grab a welcome drink, and jump straight into the ocean. Dinner that night is together with the full crew as we kick off the week ahead.
On the final morning, we will head back to the airport after breakfast. Schedule your flight for after 12:00 PM to allow enough time for the shuttle.
If you plan to extend your stay, we can help arrange extra nights or transportation back to town. However you travel, the week begins the moment your feet hit the sand.
🧭 Airport Transfers
We have your transfers covered, so sit back and relax. About five days before the trip, we will send an email and WhatsApp message with your shuttle details. We wait until then because flight times often change and it is easiest to organize everything at once.
When you land in Managua, look for our SYB drivers holding a sign at arrivals. More details on who your riding with become available in your group chat.
When you land in Liberia, you will take our SYB bus to the border (about one hour). Our team will guide you through the crossing step by step:
1. Exit Costa Rica and get your passport stamped (bring your bags with you).
2. Walk about 500-700m to the Nicaragua side (carts available for $5) and go through immigration ($1 to enter the building + $13 at the counter for Tourism Tax). Sometime if the lines are long our guide will suggest bribing to the front for an additional $10-20.
3. Meet your SYB driver on the other side and hop into the next bus to the villas (about one hour).
Our team makes it seamless and will share a short video walkthrough in the WhatsApp chat the week before the trip.
💡 Travel Tips
- Stay connected in the WhatsApp group chat to find others on your flight and get live updates.
- Bring $1+$13 USD cash for Nicaragua’s Tourism Tax at immigration. Cards are not accepted.
- More detailed arrival instructions will be shared before departure.

🤌🏽 Rules for the Trip
1️⃣ Your SYB leaders are your hype crew, support team, and problem-solvers all in one. If you need anything, big or small, go to them first.
2️⃣ Buddy system always. Whether we’re on the trails, in town, or dancing on tables, never wander off alone.
3️⃣ Save the blackout nights for another vacation. We’ve got packed epic days, you’ll want to be fully present for every second.
4️⃣ No drugs, no weed (yep, even if you think you’re “chill”).
5️⃣ Your energy is everything. Positivity is contagious, and your vibe truly shapes the group.
6️⃣ You must sign the waiver at www.surfyogabeer.com/waiver before arriving.
7️⃣ Please check-in with your details; flights, dietary needs, emergency contact, etc here: www.surfyogabeer.com/bookings
8️⃣ Travel insurance is mandatory. Make sure you’re covered before you go.
9️⃣ Respect the local culture and the environment. We’re guests here so let’s keep it classy and leave it better than we found it.
🔟 Be on time. Respect the schedule and your fellow adventurers. We run on good vibes, not island time.

🎉 Theme Parties
1️⃣ Wig Night
This one always gets wild. Bring your best wig and fully commit to a new identity for the night. Think 80s rockstar, disco diva, surfer blonde, or anything that makes people do a double take. The bigger, brighter, and bolder, the better. Let the alter ego take over and own it.
2️⃣ All White Party
Time to bring your crispest, cleanest, most radiant white fit. Think elevated beach vibes with flowy white dresses, linen sets, button-downs, and breezy chic looks that pop against the backdrop of the sea. Keep it classy, keep it fresh, and don’t be afraid to add a little sparkle or a gold accessory to take it up a notch.
🌤️ What to Expect from Nicaragua Weather
From November through April, Nicaragua gives us its best weather of the year. This is the dry season, when the sun shines almost every day and the waves stay consistent. You can expect warm days between 85 and 95°F (29 to 35°C) and cooler evenings that are perfect for sitting outside after dinner.
November and December bring green landscapes and comfortable heat as the rainy season ends. The air feels fresh, the beaches are quiet, and the sunsets are unreal.
January through March are peak season with full sunshine, steady surf, and little to no rain. Expect strong sun, warm water, and that golden hour glow every afternoon.
April starts to warm up a little more, with humid afternoons and the first light showers that cool things off just enough.
The ocean stays around 82°F (28°C) all season, so you will never need a wetsuit. Pack breathable clothing, reef safe sunscreen, and a few light layers for breezy nights. You will be outdoors from sunrise to sunset, soaking up every minute of it.
🥘 Dining in Nicaragua
You will have breakfast and dinner included at our beachfront villas, with lunch open for you to explore. Drinks are included at the villa bar.
Meals:
All meals are prepared by our private chef who cooks everything fresh each day. Breakfasts are light and energizing with tropical fruit, eggs, toast, coffee, and smoothies to start your morning. Dinners are shared family style with colorful plates of grilled fish, rice and beans, roasted vegetables, and bold local flavors. Every night feels different and every meal is made with care.
Dietary Needs:
Anything is possible if you tell us ahead of time. Our chef creates custom meals based on the dietary needs you share in your check-in form. Whether you are gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, or have specific allergies, we make sure you are taken care of.
Our Ingredients:
We source everything locally. The beef is grass fed, the chicken is raised nearby, the fish comes from local fishermen, and most of the produce comes from our friends with gardens and farms. We never use seed oils and only cook with olive oil. Every meal is free of artificial ingredients and made with love.
Villa Bar:
The open bar is stocked with local beer, rum, seltzers, and mixers for the week. If you have a favorite drink or top shelf spirit, you can bring it with you. We will be raising plenty of glasses together as the sun sets over the Pacific.
