CHANGE YOUR LIFE (Purchase Deposit)

This is an adventure jam packed with days that have 22 hours of daylight. Get ready for nonstop runs, hikes, swims, caves, mini horses, geysers. waterfalls, elfs, yoga, and dried fish!

We’re not feeding the ducks at your local pond here. We’re not doing the whole snapping-pics-through-the-streaky-window-of-your-rental-car thing. This is literally off the grid, off the trail, off your mother’s radar. This is Iceland and we’re doing it the right way. We’re eating whale, seeing sights only fit for fairytales, snapping pics of you being the adventurous maniac that you’ve always wanted to be (hello Insta flames), and making friends with the most spirited group of people who are just like you.

You are in the hands of experienced SYB leaders. Our workouts will be adventurous, our recovery will be authentic (natural warm outdoor swimming holes), and our days will be long (with days that have 22 hours of sunlight, we’ll be taking advantage of every second of our time in Iceland).

Expect running every day and to be coming home looking fit as ever. We’ll be taking it at a pace that everyone will be able to keep up with, while also stopping to learn about the environment along the way. Those looking for that extra adrenaline kick will always have the option to do sprints uphill. This is a trip for all levels, from those who get winded reaching for the tv remote to those who run marathons like it’s nothing. With days filled with workin on that booty, massages will be on the menu so that you can fully enjoy the star-filled sky that we raise our beers to.

Sign up for the experience that will give you unbelievable stories that your future grandkids won’t believe, pictures that will have the likes racking up, and new friends that will push your running game to the next level.

*NEW YORKERS: everyone who signs up for this adventure receives a complimentary 2019 RUN CLUB membership. You’ll be able to train for the adventure and meet others in the SYB community!

July 22nd FLIGHT

Fly out on this night, so that you arrive early next morning! We recommend Iceland Air from NYC. As of December 2018 prices are $421 roundtrip nonstop.

July 23rd ARRIVAL

Aim to arrive early, details coming soon. We'll let you know about the SYB van transfer to our home about a hour hour drive.

We settle in at our home, get to know each other and our location. We do a soft run (2-3miles) in the afternoon and dip into the local swimming pool.

Dinner is served at 9pm, dancing is rampant, and daylight goes till 11:30pm, and the elfs come out at night. Where this night takes you is your story, but this is just day 1.

Get ready to experience SYB to it's fullest. We begin with wake up calls, more on this later, go straight into a light morning workout and a hearty breakfast.

There is a short drive to the starting point of the day’s run/hike to the geothermal mountain bath. It will be about 3 hours total and is only 2.5 miles.

Optionally we can end up at Beerbaths spa to relax and unwind after our run for a meal and drink.

This is the night we head into town for dinner, if your legs still feel strong then bring your dancing shoes.

Once again we start with those beautiful wake up calls and then flow through an hour yoga class. We'll head to our adventure today which includes snorkeling in Silfra (one of the best diving spots in the world) and caving in Leiðarendi (Blue Mountain area). We'll be using hand-held flash lights and headlights and walking uneven surfices, it will require some awareness.

We have dinner at our home tonight and play fun games throughout the night!

After our morning we run to the town of Siglufjörður. Today is a mountain day. We go up mountain passes to get good views over the fjords and villages and end in the town of Siglufjörður. We then drive to one of the most beautifully located swimming pools in Iceland to get clean before we head back to Reykjavík in the afternoon.

Dinner will be at one of the most beautiful restuarants over looking the beach!

We check out of the countryside and into the notorius party town of Reykjavik. We'll be staying at Fosshotel near the city center. Once checked in we'll explore town and have dinner together.

As our last night together we'll have an SYB awards ceremony to celebrate achievements, failure and funny moments of our trip!

Everyone will be checking out at different times, so our official goodbye will be the night before. The hotel will provide tranporation to the airport.

Until next time... or until we throw our next party because this friendship just started!

Our SYB house is a magnificent old converted school house in the rural lowlands of south of Iceland. We are perfectly placed, all our adventures are within a 90 minute drive! We’ll have views of glaciers and volcanoes, we’re close to the beach and the mountains, and all amenities are a 10 min drive away. With 360 degrees view all around the sunrises and sunsets are amazing. The last night we will stay at 4-Star Fosshotel near Reykjavik city center.

Can you handle it?

Run baby run! But don't worry you don't need to be a run club superstar, this is for all run levels! All you need is a good attitude!

Almost everyday you can expect morning workouts, sunset yoga, and all sorts of adventures. We'll be pairing that with big group dinners, nights out in town, and lots of dancing! You can always take it at your own pace.

If you have an open mind and a sense of adventure we believe you can easily handle this advenure!

Going Alone

Yes, in fact that is recomended. We'd love you to be whoever you want on this adventure and bringing a friend could also bring old habits.

But we understand it is intimidating and hard because you feel like you don't know anyone... trust us, this is the way to go!

We recommend to arrive to KEF (Keflavík International Airport) in Reykjavík by 10am the latest on July 23, that way we can pick you up at the airport and take you directly to our house with everyone else.

Transportation to the airport for departure will be provided by the hotel. They have shuttles running once an hour. Our leaders will be on the 10:55am departure on July 28 from KEF.

Self Care

Avoid drinking too much alcohol. We've got lots of adventuring and running and you have to be aware of your surroundings! Of course you will want to enjoy a few beers and try some of the local wierd tasting Icelandic booze, however don't make yourself a liability. Nobody wants to have to look after a drunk person.

Don't worry about brining sunscreen... this is Iceland.

Well, let's just say there will be a lot of dried fish... Icelandic food will get the job done but don't expect anything mind blowing here...

Are the power outlets the same in Iceland as in the United States?

Iceland does not have the same voltage and frequency. So you need an adapter or converter.

What is the preferred currency in Iceland? And how much should I bring?

Iceland is an almost cashless society where credit cards reign supreme, even in the most rural reaches. PINs required for purchases. ATMs are available in all towns. The local currency is the Icelandic Krona (ISK). Other currencies such as USD and EUR are not accepted in Iceland.

Safety and Security in the Region

This is probably the safest place out of all the places we travel to!

Sleeping Arrangements

We'll assign you to a room and roomate according to your pretrip form. Please let us know if there are any special requests.

Bathroom Situation

We've got more people than bathroom, but other than that this is not a third world country so no surpises here.
