Welcome to Iceland, where 40 strangers become friends. Our adventure begins at Keflavík International Airport (KEF), where SYB leaders greet the crew and kick off an unforgettable week across this wild volcanic island.
We will stop at The Greenhouse for our first lunch together before heading straight into our first hike and trail run through Iceland’s stunning landscapes. It is here that laughter starts to echo through the valleys, ice meets fire, and new friendships start to form.
Our home base for the week is Midgard Base Camp, surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, and endless trails. Expect sunrise yoga, cold plunges, and hikes to unreal places like Skógafoss, Sigöldugljúfur Canyon, and Landmannalaugar’s hot springs. Some days we explore black sand beaches or chase waterfalls, other days we move together through trails that look straight out of another world.
Evenings are for recovery and connection. Sauna and hot tub sessions, hearty dinners, and shared stories under the midnight light bring the crew closer every night. And when it all wraps up, we head back to Reykjavík for our grand White Party, celebrating an epic week of adventure, movement, and connection.
This is not just a trip. It is Iceland in full SYB style, where every sunrise brings a new challenge, every meal a new memory, and every stranger a new lifelong friend.
Plan to fly into Keflavík International Airport (KEF), just outside Reykjavík. We recommend landing between 8:00 and 10:00 am on the first day of the trip. Our SYB leaders will be there to greet you, gather the crew, and get everyone ready for the adventure ahead.
By 11:00 am, we will be on the road, heading toward Midgard Base Camp, our home for the week. The drive takes about three to four hours through Iceland’s stunning southern countryside, with stops to stretch, grab snacks, and soak in your first views of this unreal landscape.
Throughout the week, we will travel in our off-road adventure buses, built to handle Iceland’s rugged terrain and take us to places regular vehicles could never reach. From volcanic valleys to remote canyons, the ride itself is part of the adventure.
All transportation during the trip is included, except for your final ride to the airport on departure day. You can easily book a shuttle or taxi from Reykjavík based on your flight time.
Your Iceland adventure begins the moment you land. Sit back, take in the views, and let us lead the way through the land of fire and ice.

Get ready to explore Iceland’s wild south coast, where volcanoes meet glaciers and waterfalls crash beside black sand beaches. This is a land that feels alive, full of contrast, color, and power.
We will trek through Thingvellir National Park, where two continents meet, and chase waterfalls like Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, and Gljufrabui that pour from cliffs hundreds of feet high. Hike across steaming geothermal valleys, past bubbling hot springs and the dramatic Krýsuvík Cliffs, home to thousands of seabirds and views that stretch to the horizon.
Our path winds through Vík, the coastal village framed by glaciers and the world-famous Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. We will explore the Sólheimajökull Glacier, the vibrant Kerid Crater, and the Geysir Geothermal Area, where the earth erupts in bursts of steam and spray.
And to top it all off, we will soak in the Blue Lagoon, surrounded by volcanic rock and endless steam. The perfect way to unwind after a week of hiking, exploring, and connecting.
From glaciers to geysers, this is Iceland at its most raw and beautiful, and you will experience it all in true SYB style.
Your Iceland adventure begins on Saturday, August 29, when we kick things off bright and early with the crew. Plan to arrive between 8:00 and 10:00 am at Keflavík International Airport (KEF) so you can join the group transfer to our first stop and begin the journey together. By late morning, we will already be exploring Iceland’s incredible landscapes.
The trip wraps up on Thursday, September 3 in Reykjavík. We will return to the city the night before for our final group dinner and legendary SYB White Party, so you can fly out anytime on Thursday.
All meals are included during the trip, which means 4 breakfasts, 5 lunches, and 5 dinners. We will also have two dinners in town where you can choose your own restaurant and pay separately. Our team and local chefs keep everyone fueled with hearty breakfasts, energizing lunches, and delicious group dinners after full days of adventure.
Alcohol is not included, but there will be plenty of opportunities to grab your own drinks along the way, from a cold bus beer after a hike to a glass of wine at dinner.
Icelandic food is simple, fresh, and full of flavor. Expect local fish like cod, salmon, and haddock, along with langoustines, lamb, and fresh baked rye bread. And do not miss Skyr, Iceland’s signature thick and creamy dairy treat that lands somewhere between yogurt and cottage cheese.
Bring your appetite and your curiosity because the food is part of the adventure.
Our home base for the week is Midgard Base Camp, a cozy and modern lodge surrounded by mountains, glaciers, and endless adventure. This local gem is the perfect place for our SYB crew to recharge between hikes, workouts, and exploring Iceland’s wild south coast.
Midgard is all about connection and comfort. Rooms are shared, with double and group setups that make it easy to meet new friends while still having your own space. After a full day outdoors, we unwind with warm showers, hearty meals, and time in the hot tubs and sauna while the mountains glow in the evening light.
For our final night, we stay in Reykjavík at Loft HI Hostel (or a similar boutique hostel), located right in the heart of the city. It is the perfect spot for one last dinner, our legendary SYB White Party, and a final night out before we say goodbye.
This is not just where we stay, it is where we connect, reset, and celebrate together after a week of adventure.
At Midgard Base Camp, we have everything you need to relax and recover after long days of adventure. There is a sauna and a rooftop hot tub overlooking the mountains, and access is fully included with your stay.
We also visit a few secret naturally occurring hot springs tucked deep in the countryside, hidden between mountains and reachable only by trail. After long hikes through Iceland’s wild terrain, slipping into these warm geothermal pools is pure magic.
Each evening back at Midgard, the crew unwinds together in the sauna or hot tubs, watching the sunset or soaking under the midnight sky. Massage and other spa treatments are available nearby for an additional cost if you want to take your recovery even further.
Yes. Both Midgard Base Camp and our Reykjavík hotel keep everything clean and comfortable throughout your stay. Fresh towels and linens are provided, and the common areas are maintained daily so you can focus on relaxing, exploring, and enjoying the adventure.
If you ever need anything refreshed or replaced, just let the staff know. They are friendly, efficient, and always happy to help.
Everything is taken care of so you can fully enjoy the Icelandic experience.
This trip is all about movement, nature, and that unbeatable rush you get from exploring new terrain. Iceland’s trails are unreal, and we make the most of them with a mix of hikes, trail runs, bootcamps, and yoga sessions that keep us feeling strong and connected all week long.
This is an all levels adventure, and enthusiasm is what matters most. Whether you are an experienced runner or someone who just loves being active outdoors, you are in the right place. After a late night you might feel tempted to skip a morning workout, but trust us, there is no better way to start the day than moving with your new crew surrounded by Iceland’s raw beauty.
Our SYB leaders and local guides know these landscapes inside and out. Expect unforgettable routes, stunning views, and moments that make you feel completely alive. All hikes, runs, and fitness sessions are included in your trip.
Iceland is a land of fire, ice, and pure magic, and we will experience it all. After a tough run or hike, we will soak in natural hot springs like Landmannalaugar, surrounded by colorful rhyolite mountains and steaming pools hidden deep in the highlands.
We will explore the dramatic landscapes of Thingvellir National Park, stand at the base of Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, and walk across the black sands of Reynisfjara Beach. Our adventure takes us near Sólheimajökull Glacier, where you can witness the power of nature up close, and to the vibrant Kerid Crater, glowing with shades of red and turquoise.
Every experience is included in your trip so you can focus on living the adventure. For those who want to go even deeper, there is an optional snorkelling experience at Silfra Fissure, where you can swim between two continents. If that is not your vibe, we have plenty of other fun activities planned for the crew.
This week is about embracing Iceland’s wild beauty and experiencing the kind of moments that stay with you forever.
No trip to Iceland is complete without a visit to the Blue Lagoon, one of the country’s most iconic natural wonders. On our final day together, we will soak in its warm, mineral-rich waters surrounded by volcanic lava fields and soft steam rising into the sky.
It is the perfect way to unwind after a week of adventure. Muscles recover, minds quiet, and the crew reflects on everything we experienced together before heading home.
Entry to the Blue Lagoon is included in your trip, and we will make sure you have plenty of time to relax, float, and take it all in.
Iceland is one of the safest countries in the world, and the communities we visit are friendly, welcoming, and used to travelers from around the globe. The people here take pride in their country and love sharing it with visitors who come to experience its beauty.
Our SYB leaders and local guides know the terrain, the trails, and the weather patterns inside and out. Safety is always the top priority, and we plan each day around the best and most comfortable conditions.
When hiking or exploring, we move as a group and stay connected. The Icelandic weather can change quickly, but our team is prepared for every situation. You can relax knowing you are in good hands every step of the way.
Iceland’s currency is the Icelandic króna (ISK), but credit and debit cards are accepted almost everywhere, even at small cafés and gas stations. You will not need much cash during the trip, but we recommend bringing around 300 euros for small purchases, coffee breaks, or souvenirs. ATMs are easy to find in Reykjavík and in the main towns we visit.
Most of your trip costs are already covered, including transportation, meals, and activities. You will only need extra money for personal spending or drinks when we go out in town.
Tipping is not expected in Icelandic culture, but it is always appreciated for exceptional service. Once you arrive, everything else is handled, so you can focus on exploring, connecting, and enjoying the adventure.
Iceland has some of the cleanest and purest water in the world, straight from glaciers and natural springs. Tap water is completely safe to drink everywhere we go, so there is no need to buy bottled water during the trip. Bring a reusable bottle and fill it up as often as you like.
When we are out on hikes or exploring, our guides will make sure there are refill spots along the way. Many of our hotels and restaurants also offer still and sparkling water free of charge.
Between workouts, cold plunges, and hot springs, staying hydrated is key. You will quickly understand why Icelandic water is often called liquid gold.
Yes. In fact we recommend it. Most of our guests arrive on their own and leave with a whole new crew of friends. The biggest takeaway from this trip is always the people you meet, the perspectives you gain, and the moments you share.
It may feel scary at first, but the second you arrive you will be welcomed by our leaders and by an amazing group of likeminded adventurers who are ready to connect. This is one of the best parts of SYB and why so many people return year after year.
Yes. You can leave your phone in your bag and stay present while a professional photographer capture every moment. From sunrise workouts to beach adventures and late-night laughs, you’ll get high-quality content without lifting a finger.
And yes, it’s all included in your trip. Your post-trip photo dump is going to break the group chat.
Yes, you can. This trip is for every level, and what matters most is your energy and attitude. There will be big days filled with hiking, running, and exploring, and some of those trails can push you to your limits if you choose to go all in. Other days are slower, giving you time to recover, breathe, and take it all in.
Our accommodations are cozy and comfortable, but do not expect luxury. This is not that kind of trip. What you will find instead are warm rooms, good food, saunas, cold plunges, yoga sessions, and a crew of people who will quickly feel like family.
This trip is about connection, challenge, and the kind of memories that last a lifetime. You will leave stronger, lighter, and with friends you will stay close to long after Iceland.
