Let's Talk Water
This adventure is split into two epic parts: diving into the wonders of Egypt and cruising the sparkling waters of the Red Sea on a yacht!
First stop: Cairo! We’ll explore the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple. But don’t worry; we won’t just be staring at big rocks. Our Egyptologist will drop some serious history knowledge on us! Plus, all you influencers will get a chance to ride a camel and snap a professional photo with the pyramids in the background, courtesy of our group photographer.
After soaking up all that culture, we’ll head to Aswan, where we’ll escape the tourist crowds and explore ancient Egyptian sites. This is the only spot where the Nile is clean enough to swim in, so dive right in! We’ll also kayak and take a Felucca ride on the Nile for the ultimate experience. And don’t think we’ll slack off—morning workouts and yoga are on the agenda too!
Next, we’re off to Luxor to discover famous ancient temples like the Valley of the Kings, known as the "world's greatest open-air museum." And guess what? We’ll kick off the next day with a stunning sunrise hot air balloon ride over the temples, and yes, it’s included in your trip ticket!
After all this historical exploration, it’s time for three nights of sailing the Red Sea, hopping from one secluded island to another, playing water sports, riding banana boats, snorkeling, and even optional scuba diving if you’re up for it! We’ll set up BBQs and bonfires on the beaches, bring coolers full of drinks, and play some funky tunes all night long. The highlight? We’ll visit Erq Dolphin Reef to swim with wild dolphins!
And of course, this is an SYB trip, so get ready for epic private themed parties, unforgettable boat days, wild desert adventures, and a bunch of new best friends for life... we say it, you read it, and it’s absolutely true!
Arrive in Cairo on April 27th, before 10am. We will greet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. But fair warning, today is going to be a full day of exploring!
Depart on May 5th from Hurghada to wherever you are going next. We will have a morning checkout from the boat in the marina at 10am, feel free to travel at anytime after 12pm this day.
We'll ask you 6-weeks prior to the trip to 'check-in' within the booking account where we collect your flight info, passport info, etc.
We’re going for that 4-5 star experience, baby! If you choose a private room, you’ll enjoy your own space and a private bathroom throughout the trip. If you opt for a shared room, you’ll have one awesome roommate for the whole adventure, complete with two separate beds in the room. No matter which option you pick, this trip is all about luxury, and you’ll feel it every step of the way!
In Cairo, we’ll be staying at the 4-star Hilton Zamalek Hotel (or a similar venue).
In Aswan we stay at the 4-star Anakato Nubian House (or similar).
In Luxor we stay at the 5-star Jolie Ville Hotel (or similar).
In Hurghada we stay on our deluxe boat.
We pick you up from the airport and travel as the pack throughout the trip; no one is alone!
This trip includes a domestic flight in it's price. We will give flight details out upon your checkin.
We also have two days on a bus. One is from Aswan to Luxor which is about 3 hours. The other is Luxor to Harghada which is about 4 hours.
Finally, we’ll spend a few days sailing on a deluxe large boat that offers a smooth ride compared to smaller vessels. Plus, our waters are generally calm! Just to be on the safe side, it’s a good idea to pack any medications you might need.
FYI: You'll need to find your departure flight from Hurghada anytime after 12pm on our last day. Make sure your flight is from the correct airport, as we start and finish in different parts of the country.
Every day we'll clean up after you...so feel free to enjoy yourself while on vacation!
This trip is near all inclusive; all breakfast and dinners and four lunches are included. The four lunches that are not included are when we are out enjoying excursions and eating in smaller groups.
Alcohol is not included on this trip but you will have easy access. Egypt is a dry country but we have found the best spots to buy!
Part of the SYB lifestyle is enjoying fresh and local cuisines. Egyptian cuisine relies heavily on vegetables and legumes but also incorporates beef, lamb and chicken into the culture, primarily in grilling.
Koshary is Egypt's national dish and is an Egyptian staple, mixing pasta, rice and brown lentils, topped with a zesty tomato sauce and garlic vinegar and garnished with chickpeas and crispy fried onions.
We get to have a few dinners at local restaurants, so get excited to explore local areas & indulge in the cuisines and culture!
The best days are days spent on a boat. We will take a private deluxe boat sailing around the Red Sea, get ready to see stunning white sand beaches, snorkel, and enjoy fresh foods!
While on the boat you will have a chance to learn to scuba dive or go scuba diving if you are already certified. This is an optional and extra cost that you can purchase during the checkout.
After a late night, you might be tempted to skip the morning workout, but we highly recommend joining us! Included in your trip, our boot camps and yoga sessions are the perfect way to energize and kick-start your day. There’s nothing better than sweating it out with your new friends to set the tone for an adventure-filled day!
Our amazing trip leaders know just how to get your day off to a fantastic start with a solid workout. And guess what? This experience is included in your trip fees!
Leave your phone and camera behind because we’ve got everything covered! A professional photographer and videographer will be joining us to capture every incredible moment of this trip. Get ready for the best travel photos and videos you’ve ever seen—your friends won’t know what hit them when you drop that epic photo dump!
This experience is included in trip fees.
We strongly encourage you to buy travel and/or medical insurance through our provider or your own. This is essential for emergencies or unexpected situations.
Please keep in mind that any travel delays caused by your airline, weather, or unforeseen circumstances will not be compensated by SurfYogaBeer. If you cannot make the trip last minute due to changes, you will need to rely on your travel insurance for any reimbursement. Your spot on the trip and the programming throughout the week are paid for in advance.
We'll be doing some adventures throughout this trip that require a bit of self-awareness of the surrounding area. Remember, this is the Egypt and it's hot!
Dehydration is a common cause of feeling unwell, please drink lots of water.
Avoid drinking too much alcohol. Of course, you will want to enjoy a few beers the first night. However, don't make yourself a liability. Nobody wants to have to look after a drunk person. Tropical hangovers are a nightmare, and you don't want to miss out on daily activities if you are trying to recover from the night before!
Your skin will burn easily in the desert, and especially ya'll winter hibernating New Yorkers. So get the proper gear and protection!
Rest assured, there have been no incidents reported that would cause us any concern. You’ll be safe in the area, especially when you stay with us. We work very closely with our tour partner to ensure that safety is a top priority, with all accommodations highly secured with multiple guards on duty 24/7 to ensure your safety.
Egypt is safe for travelers, but with any travel, risk is always associated. There are risks of petty crime and pickpockets - we suggest not carrying all your valuables with you.
If you have any concerns, we're here to chat.
Of course you can! The hardest part about our adventures is making the decision to join. It can be intimidating to sign up for a group adventure on your own, but we promise you, you are in good hands.
Come alone and leave with an incredible group of friends. The connections you make are easy and strong... by the time you leave the airport you will have goosebumps by meeting everyone new!
The Egyptian Pound is the currency of Egypt. It is best practice to use Pounds in Egypt, but travellers will find the best rates once they arrive.
USD, British Pounds and Euros are the most accessible currencies to convert once you arrive. Cairo International Airport has many 24-hour banks to complete these transactions.
Most credit and debit cards are accepted at most restaurants, businesses and retailers.
ATMs are widely available throughout Cairo and most tourist areas of Egypt, but we urge you to prepare and withdraw cash at the airport for ease & best conversion rates!
We suggest bringing $300 to $400 to use at bars, a few of our dinners, or for any shopping, but otherwise, we've got you covered!
Drinking tap water in Egypt is not recommended due to the high chlorine levels. The water is considered safe in Cairo but bottled, and filtered water is readily available and recommended.
Let's just say, bottled.
