May 19 to 24, 2026.
That’s 6 days and 5 nights in Playa Maderas.
The trip officially begins at 6:00 PM.
We’ll organize transportation shuttles to get you from the airport to our villas, so no stress there.
You have two main options:
- Managua, Nicaragua (MGA) – about a 2.5 hour drive
- Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) – about a 3 hour drive with a border crossing
We recommend flying into Managua (MGA) if possible.
Try to land by 3:00 PM on arrival day so you can catch a group shuttle. We’ll build the shuttle schedule based on everyone’s flight times.
If your flight doesn’t line up, we can connect you with a trusted driver. Private transfers typically cost $125–$200 per vehicle and can fit up to four people.
For departure, we’ll organize shuttles based on flight times. Just make sure your flight is no earlier than 12:00 PM. If you’re leaving earlier, you’ll need to arrange your own transport, but we can help coordinate with others.
About six weeks before the trip, we’ll send a check-in form to collect your flight details, passport info, and anything else we need to get you there smoothly.
For most travelers, no visa is required for short stays.
You may need to pay a small entry fee on arrival and have a valid passport. We’ll send exact details after booking based on your nationality.
Yes, travel and medical insurance is required. You must secure it before joining the program. If you choose not to purchase insurance, you accept full responsibility and agree to our cancellation policy.
To reserve your spot, a 20% deposit is required. This goes toward your total payment. The remaining balance is due six weeks before the program start date.
If you cancel more than 45 days before the program begins, you’ll receive trip credit that can be used toward any future SYB trip within 12 months.
If you cancel within 45 days, your payment is non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions.
We do not offer refunds for any reason. Travel insurance helps protect your investment if anything unexpected happens. It’s worth it.

Welcome to Nicaragua, Surf Camp style.
This is a week built around one thing, getting in the water as much as possible and actually improving.
You arrive, we pick you up, and head straight to Villas Playa Maderas. Once you’re settled, it’s a quick intro, board setup, and usually a first session or at least time by the ocean to get oriented.
From there, the rhythm becomes simple and consistent.
Mornings start early with coffee and a light bite, then straight into a surf session when conditions are best. Coaching is hands-on and tailored, whether you’re learning the basics or working on turning, positioning, and wave selection.
After surf, it’s breakfast and time to reset. Midday is for recovery, optional workouts, mobility work, or just relaxing by the pool.
In the afternoons, you’ll often head back out for a second session. This is where things start to click. More reps, more confidence, and more time actually applying what you’ve learned.
Evenings are easy. Group dinners, time to unwind, and early nights when you want them. Nothing forced, just a steady flow that lets you stay consistent all week.
Because you’re in one place the entire time, everything feels simple. No packing, no moving around, just surf, recover, repeat.
By the end of the week, most people notice real progress. More confidence in the water, better positioning, and a much clearer understanding of how to surf.
You leave tired in a good way, and a lot better than when you arrived.
