This Nicaragua experience blends fitness, adventure, and relaxation in one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Central America. Playa Maderas is raw, vibrant, and the perfect setting to disconnect from routine and reconnect with yourself.
From the moment you land, you’ll be greeted by the SYB crew and a group of like-minded people. After a scenic ride through the jungle, we head straight to the ocean to reset and settle in. Dinner is served that night, followed by easygoing social time to ease into the week.
Mornings begin with movement. You’ll wake to the sound of the ocean and join a workout or yoga session to energize the day. After breakfast, we hit the beach for surf lessons with local instructors. Whether you’re brand new or experienced, the waves here meet you where you are.
Afternoons are flexible. Lounge by the pool, explore town, join a salsa lesson, book a massage, or ride horses along the beach. Some days you’ll want to chill, others you’ll be chasing every moment.
Evenings bring us together for sunset yoga and group dinners. Some nights we’ll head to beach bars for tacos and dancing. Other nights we’ll host themed parties or hang by the fire under the stars.
One day is reserved for our catamaran cruise. We’ll sail the coastline, snorkel in crystal waters, visit hidden beaches, and enjoy food and drinks with the full crew.
Throughout the week, you’ll have plenty of structure to stay active and just enough space to slow down. You’ll leave with new skills, unforgettable memories, and a crew that feels like family.
Yes, travel & medical insurance is mandatory and must be secured before joining our trip. If you choose not to purchase insurance, you acknowledge and accept our cancellation policy.
To reserve your spot, a 25% deposit is required—this goes toward your total payment. Full payment is due 6 weeks before the trip start date.
We do not issue refunds under any circumstances, so travel insurance protects your investment if anything unexpected comes up. Better safe than sorry.
The trip officially begins at 6:00 PM. We’ll organize transportation shuttles to get you from the airport to our villas, so no stress there.
We recommend flying into Managua Airport (MGA). A second option is Liberia, Costa Rica. Try to land at either airport by 3:00 PM to ensure you catch a group shuttle. We’ll build the shuttle schedule based on everyone’s arrival times.
If your flight doesn’t line up, we can connect you with a trusted driver. Private transfers cost around $125 to $200 per vehicle, and they fit up to four people.
On the way out, we’ll do the same—schedule shuttles based on departure times. Just make sure your flight is no earlier than 11:00 AM on departure day so you don’t miss your ride. If you’re flying earlier, you’ll need to cover your own transport, but we’ll help you find someone to share with.
Six weeks before the trip, we’ll send out a check-in form to collect your flight details, passport info, and anything else we need to get you there smoothly.
The trip kicks off on November 21, 2025, and wraps up on November 26, 2025. That’s six days and five nights of workouts, surf, yoga, and unforgettable memories in Playa Maderas, Nicaragua.
All rooms are air-conditioned, located in a gated community with 24-hour security, and include a safe for your valuables. You’ll be staying across several nearby villas, each with shared kitchens and comfortable rooms just a short walk from one another.
The property features two infinity pools, two surf-view yoga decks, a massive jungle gym, and hidden corners perfect for relaxing solo or with new friends.
We’ve been coming here since 2015. It’s safe, welcoming, and has always felt like home. No strangers, no stress, and yes, it’s sexy too.
Getting around is part of the adventure. We usually have 4x4 gators to cruise to the surf and around the area, but the beach is only a short three-minute walk from the villas.
If you’re flying in on the recommended flights, we’ll have group shuttles waiting for you. If your plans are different, we can help arrange a private transfer with one of our trusted drivers.
No matter what, we’ll make sure you get where you need to go.
Daily housekeeping is included. Your room will be cleaned each day so you can focus on relaxing, adventuring, and enjoying every moment. We’ve got the cleanup covered.
We provide daily breakfast and all but one dinner during the trip. Lunches are open, giving you the chance to explore town and try whatever local food you’re craving.
At the villas, you’ll have unlimited access to Nicaraguan rum, beers, seltzers, and mixers. Perfect for poolside hangs or sunset pregames.
Alcohol at restaurants outside the hotel is not included, but if you’re feeling bold, grab a bottle for the table and watch your legend grow.
You do not need to know how to surf to come on this trip. In fact, most people show up as beginners and leave riding waves like naturals.
Playa Maderas is just steps away from our villas and known for its world-class, beginner-friendly waves. You’ll get two surf lessons included with local instructors who will have you standing up and smiling in no time. If you already surf, it’s a great place to sharpen your skills.
Once you’re out there, you’ll probably want to paddle out again and again.
Boat Day is a trip highlight. We’ll hop on a private catamaran and sail along the coast to discover stunning white sand beaches, swim, snorkel, and soak up the sun with the full crew. Expect good music, fresh food, and major main character energy. This epic experience is included in your trip.
Bootcamps, beach workouts, and yoga sessions are all part of the experience. Whether you’re rallying after a big night or waking up ready to crush it, we’ve got workouts that energize, reset, and bring the group together.Led by world-class SYB leaders, every session is designed to kickstart your day and leave you feeling strong. No pressure, all good vibes—and yes, it’s all included in your trip.
Every guest gets a 30-minute massage included with the trip. It’s our way of saying you earned it after those morning workouts and surf sessions. Local masseuses will come right to the villas, so all you have to do is show up and relax.
Yes. You can leave your phone in your bag and stay present while a professional photographer and videographer capture every moment. From sunrise workouts to beach adventures and late-night laughs, you’ll get high-quality content without lifting a finger. And yes, it’s all included in your trip. Your post-trip photo dump is going to break the group chat.
This is the jungle, not a resort. Stay hydrated by bringing a refillable water bottle and drinking water often. Dehydration is the number one reason people feel off.
Go easy on the alcohol. Tropical hangovers hit harder and you don’t want to miss out on the fun because you went too hard the night before.
The sun is strong. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and take care of your skin—especially if you’re coming from winter.
Look after yourself, and you’ll get the most out of every day.
Playa Maderas is considered one of the safest areas in Latin America, but like anywhere, petty crime can happen. We recommend not carrying all your valuables with you when you’re out and about. Our rooms have safes where you can securely store passports, cash, and anything important. It’s always better to leave the flashy stuff at home—this trip is more about barefoot vibes than blinged-out fits.
Do not flush anything down the toilet, including toilet paper. The plumbing in this part of the world is different from what you might be used to. Each bathroom has a waste bin for paper and other products. Please use it to help keep everything working properly.
The WiFi is super fast and reliable. We have 400 Mbps fiber optic internet throughout the property, perfect for working remotely, streaming, or posting your adventures in real time.
We’re prepared. Each villa has backup batteries that keep the WiFi and fans running for up to two hours. The air conditioning will pause, but you’ll still have comfort and connection.
If the outage lasts longer, we’ll switch to a gas-powered generator to keep everything running smoothly. You’re in good hands.
This isn’t a yoga retreat or luxury escape—it’s a tropical beach adventure. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and beautiful, but you’re in the jungle. That means bugs, spiders, and a little bit of wild. Keep your doors closed and you’ll be just fine.
Expect morning workouts, beach games, sunset yoga, group dinners, town nights, and plenty of dancing. You can go all in or take it at your own pace. Skip a workout, stay back at the villa, or dive into every moment.
If you bring an open mind and a sense of adventure, you’ll thrive here.
The local currency is the Nicaraguan Córdoba, but most places accept US dollars. We recommend bringing between $200 and $300 in cash for bar tabs, snacks, and a few meals. Most other essentials are already included in your trip.Alcoholic drinks typically range from $6 to $12. Playa Maderas does not have ATMs, and many spots add a 5 to 6 percent fee for card payments. It’s best to withdraw your cash before arriving in Nicaragua.
We highly recommend having travel medical insurance—just in case. If anything comes up, our trip leaders will help get you to a nearby clinic or hospital right away.We also offer an optional $25add-on called Nicaragua Medical Care. It gives you access to our trusted local doctor, Dr. Norlan, who can be at the villa within 30–60 minutes. This covers up to 3 house calls for common issues like dehydration, stomach bugs, cuts, bites, and more. You’ll only pay for any medications needed.Peace of mind in paradise. 🙌
