This trip is all about big adventures and unforgettable moments. We start in Luxor, the ancient capital of Egypt. You will float over the Nile at sunrise in hot air balloons, step into the tombs of pharaohs, wander temples older than history class could ever explain, and cross the desert with an ATV throttle in your hand. These first few days ground you in the epic history of Egypt while warming up the crew for what’s ahead.
From there the adventure shifts to the sea. We board a private deluxe yacht that becomes home for the next week. Out on turquoise lagoons and reefs, the focus turns to movement, play, and learning something new. Three full days are dedicated to kitesurfing. Morning stretches roll into water sessions where coaches guide you step by step. Between lessons you can snorkel, wakeboard, or just float in the sun, then head back out for another round. It is long days on the water, plenty of wipeouts, and the rush of finally catching the wind.
Once the kites come down the tanks go on. The next three days are all about diving. Beginners can work toward their intro certification, while experienced divers can go deeper into wrecks, walls, and reefs. Expect coral gardens, shipwrecks frozen in time, the chance to swim alongside dolphins, and even optional night dives where the reef comes alive in a different way.
Everywhere in between are the parts that make this a SurfYogaBeer trip. Daily workouts on deck. Group stretches after dives. Games that break the ice. Floatie parties in hidden lagoons. Theme nights under the stars that take the energy sky-high. And always, shared meals that bring everyone back together.
We close back in port at Hurghada. If you want to fly out that night you can, or you can stay for one last breakfast with the crew before checkout the next morning.
Start: Luxor International Airport (LXR)
Fly into Luxor to begin the trip. If you land before 2 PM on arrival day you can join our group shuttle to the resort.
Transfer: Luxor to Hurghada
Midway through the trip we cross the desert together on a four hour bus ride to the Red Sea.
End: Hurghada International Airport (HRG)
The trip finishes in Hurghada. There is no group shuttle here since everyone has different flight times, but taxis are easy and we will help arrange them. You can fly out on the evening of the last full day or the morning after breakfast.
If you’re traveling from NYC, we recommend flying into Cairo a day early to rest or explore. From there, book a separate domestic flight to Luxor, ensuring you arrive by 2:00-3:00 PM on Day 1.
Returning home can be tricky, so we suggest this seamless connection:
- April 24th: Take the 10:30 PM EgyptAir flight from Hurghada to Cairo (arriving at 11:40 PM).
- April 25th: Catch the 5:30 AM EgyptAir direct flight from Cairo back to Newark (EWR).

This trip takes you through two of Egypt’s highlights: Luxor and the Red Sea. We start in Luxor, exploring ancient temples, tombs, and the Valley of the Kings. After a few days on land we cross the desert to Hurghada, where we board our private yacht. From there we spend a week kitesurfing, diving, and exploring the lagoons and reefs of the Red Sea before returning to port in Hurghada.
After running this trip since 2023, we have carved it into what we believe is the best possible Egypt experience. This year we focus on Luxor and the Red Sea instead of spreading ourselves across Cairo and Aswan.
Cairo is beautiful, but it is a massive, busy city that does not fit the way we travel as a group. We recommend discovering it at your own pace before or after the trip, when you can take time to enjoy the museums, mosques, and energy of the city.
Luxor is where the history of ancient Egypt truly comes alive. The Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple, Hatshepsut’s Temple, and the hot air balloon rides over the Nile are unmatched anywhere else in the country. Here you are walking inside tombs carved thousands of years ago, surrounded by monuments that feel like stepping back in time.
Aswan is also a wonderful destination, and we encourage you to explore it on your own if you have extra days. For our group trip, though, we chose to spend that time on the Red Sea, which is home to some of the best kitesurfing and scuba diving spots in the world.
From experience, the Red Sea has always been the highlight of this journey. Every time we ran this trip, guests told us that the days spent on the yacht were their favorite part. That is why we built the new itinerary around it. With three full days of kitesurfing and three full days of diving, this version of the trip gives you less time in transit and more time living unforgettable moments with the SYB crew. We believe it is the perfect adventure, the best way to experience Egypt in all its history and thrill.
Start: April 16, 2026 (Luxor)
End: April 25, 2026 (Hurghada)
We officially wrap on April 25 with breakfast and checkout in the morning. However, we return to Hurghada port the evening before, so if you prefer to fly out on April 24 after sunset, that is also an option.
This trip is almost all inclusive. All breakfasts, all dinners, and seven lunches are included. The only three meals not included are lunches when we are out on excursions and breaking into smaller groups.
Alcohol is not included, but you will have easy access. While Egypt is a dry country, we stock the boat and there will be a bar on board for drinks.
Food is a big part of the SYB lifestyle. Egyptian cuisine is fresh and flavorful, built around vegetables and legumes with plenty of grilled beef, lamb, and chicken. You will get to try koshary, the national dish, which mixes pasta, rice, and lentils topped with tomato sauce, garlic vinegar, chickpeas, and crispy onions.
Along the way we will also head out for a few dinners at local restaurants, giving you the chance to explore neighborhoods and taste authentic Egyptian flavors.
In Luxor we stay at the five star Jolie Ville Resort & Spa Kings Island Luxor, a private island in the Nile with palm trees, pools, and wide river views. It is the perfect place to kick off the trip.
From there we move to our private deluxe yacht in Hurghada. This becomes home for the week as we explore the Red Sea. Cabins are comfortable, meals are prepared by the onboard chef, and the deck is where we gather for workouts, games, and dinners under the stars.
Yes. At the Jolie Ville Resort & Spa Kings Island Luxor, housekeeping is provided daily just like you would expect at a five star hotel.
On the yacht, cabins are refreshed every other day. Towels and linens are provided, and the crew will make sure everything stays comfortable throughout the week.
Yes. We work with trusted local partners who know the region well and help us plan every step of the journey. Our group stays together throughout the trip, with private transfers, a five star resort, and a private yacht.
Like any international travel, it is smart to stay aware of your surroundings, but you can feel confident that your safety is our top priority. We have run trips all over the world and bring the same care and preparation here to Egypt.
The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). Cash is useful for small shops, tipping, and local restaurants, though larger hotels and some stores will accept credit cards. ATMs are widely available in cities, but we recommend bringing some cash with you to make things easier.
On the yacht most things are covered, but you may want cash for bar drinks and tips for the crew at the end of the trip.
Tap water in Egypt is not safe to drink, so we provide filtered or bottled water throughout the trip. At the resort in Luxor you will always have access to bottled water. On the yacht the crew keeps the boat fully stocked, and you can refill reusable bottles at any time.
We also recommend avoiding ice from street vendors and brushing your teeth with bottled water to be safe. Staying hydrated is key, especially with full days in the sun, so you will never be far from clean drinking water.
This is not a sit on the bus tour of Egypt. Movement is built into every day of the trip. Expect group workouts, bodyweight sessions on the deck, stretching after long days of diving, and light training to balance out all the exploring and partying.
Workouts are designed for all levels and no one is ever left behind. You will sweat, you will laugh, and you will surprise yourself with what you can do. The goal is not to set records but to feel strong, stay energized, and share the SYB crew vibe wherever we are, whether it is next to the Nile, on a sandbar, or under the Red Sea sky.
During the kitesurfing days a lot of energy is spent on the water, so the focus shifts toward stretching and yoga to keep the body moving without burning out.
We have professional kitesurf instructors on board and all the equipment ready for you, so all you need to do is show up. No experience is required. Beginners will learn step by step, while experienced riders can level up their skills in some of the best kite spots in the Red Sea.
For three full days the focus is kitesurfing. Each day offers up to three sessions, giving you the chance to practice, progress, and finally feel the rush of catching the wind.
Learning to kitesurf is easier than most people think. With steady winds and shallow lagoons, you will have the perfect environment to learn. A classic beginner course usually takes three days and about nine hours of lessons. By the end of day three, most students are able to ride short distances independently and safely, with further practice needed for longer rides. In the case of two students per instructor, the full course runs for three days and about eleven hours.
If you are ready before the trip ends, you can keep practicing with our equipment under instructor supervision. Our goal is to get you riding confidently on your own by the end of the trip.
Between sessions you can snorkel, wakeboard, or just relax in the turquoise lagoons. From first attempts to flying across the water, this is your chance to throw yourself into one of the most thrilling sports in the world.
We have included everything, and that is a huge value. Kites, boards, harnesses, and safety gear normally cost hundreds of dollars a day to rent, but with us it is all ready and waiting for you at no extra cost. Even better, our professional instructors are on board the entire trip, giving you one on one time to make sure you progress quickly and safely. From your very first launch to flying across turquoise lagoons, we have covered every detail so all you need to do is show up and ride.
We have a dive instructor on board and all the equipment you need, so you just need to show up. No experience is required. Beginners can earn their scuba certification during the trip, while certified divers can jump straight into deeper dives and advanced sites.
For three full days we dive one of the best spots in the world, the Red Sea. Each day offers up to three dives, with optional night dives for those who want to see the reef after dark.
Expect crystal clear visibility, vibrant coral gardens, and legendary sites. Swim through historic shipwrecks, glide alongside rays and turtles, and keep your eyes open for dolphins in the lagoons. This is your chance to start fresh or take your diving to the next level in one of the planet’s true underwater playgrounds.
We have included everything, and it is one of the biggest perks of this trip. Tanks, BCDs, regulators, fins, masks, and wetsuits can cost a fortune to rent, but with us it is all on board and ready for you. On top of that, our dive instructors are with you the whole way, giving one on one coaching whether it is your very first dive or you are working toward certification. From exploring coral gardens to swimming through shipwrecks, every detail is handled so you can focus on the experience, not the logistics.
Get ready, here is what you can expect on this adventure:
- Sunrise hot air balloon ride over Luxor
- Exploring ancient temples, tombs, and the Valley of the Kings
- ATV ride across the desert on the way to the Red Sea
- Three full days of kitesurfing with instructors and all gear included
- Three full days of scuba diving in the Red Sea with the chance to earn your certification
- Snorkeling, wakeboarding, swimming, and floaties in turquoise lagoons
- Daily workouts, yoga, and stretching sessions on deck
- Theme parties under the stars including the All White Party
- BBQ dinners, crew games, and long nights that flow into mornings
This is not roughing it. Our yacht was fully renewed in 2024 and is built for comfort and fun. It fits 28 guests with 12 cabins that have separate beds, which can be joined for couples, and 2 suites. All cabins have air conditioning, private toilets with showers, and plenty of space to settle in. There are 8 cabins on the middle deck and 6 on the upper deck, including the suites. The lower deck has a dining and lounge area, and upstairs you will find a restaurant with TV, a bar deck, a dedicated kite gear deck, and a solarium for soaking in the sun.
Life on board is fully taken care of. Transfers from the airport to the boat and back are included, and your stay comes with double-room accommodations with private bathrooms. A professional crew with kite and dive guides is with us the whole way. Meals are cooked fresh three times a day, with soft drinks, juices, tea, and coffee always available. During kite sessions there is beach assistance and rescue support, and when the wind drops you can grab snorkeling gear, paddle boards, or even wakeboards. Starlink satellite Wi-Fi is on board too, though connection may vary once we are out in the islands.
The boat is not just where we sleep, it is our floating home. Workouts on deck, long meals together, and nights that turn into theme parties under the stars make this the ultimate Red Sea base for adventure.
Life at sea means Wi-Fi is limited. The boat does have a connection, but it can be slow and unreliable once we are out in the islands. If you want to stay connected, we recommend bringing an eSIM like Holafly or purchasing a local SIM card on arrival. Most people choose to unplug and enjoy the Red Sea, but it is good to know your options.
All travelers to Egypt need a tourist visa. The easiest way is to purchase it on arrival at the airport for around $25 USD in cash. You will be asked for an address in Egypt, which you can list as:
Jolie Ville Resort & Spa Kings Island Luxor
Awameya Road, Kings Island
Luxor, Egypt
Have this ready before you land so the process is quick and smooth.
Absolutely, and we actually recommend it.This trip is your chance to show up as your truest, most adventurous self. No baggage, no expectations, no old routines. When you come solo, you open yourself up to deeper connections, new experiences, and a crew that becomes instant family. We totally get that it can feel intimidating at first but trust us, this is the best way to do it. Most of our guests come solo, and by day one, you won’t feel that way anymore.
Yes. We bring a professional photographer to capture the trip so you can focus on the experience. From sunrise hot air balloons to kitesurfing wipeouts, diving with turtles, and late night theme parties, the best moments will be documented.
You will get access to a shared album after the trip, so you can relive the adventure and have the content ready to share without worrying about pulling out your phone.
The fastest way to feel unwell in Egypt is dehydration. The days are hot, the sun is strong, and the activities are full on, so drinking plenty of water is key. We always keep bottled and filtered water available and you should make use of it often.
Alcohol is not included on this trip, and while it will be available on the boat, overdoing it can make workouts, kitesurfing, and diving much harder. Pace yourself and know your limits.
Be mindful with food outside of the group meals. Street food and local spots can be tempting, but they sometimes cause stomach issues. Stick with the group restaurants we visit together where we know it is safe and fresh.
Our yacht is large and the seas this time of year are very calm, so seasickness is rarely an issue. Still, if you know you are prone to motion sickness, bring the right medication so nothing gets in the way of your experience.
Take care of yourself so you can fully enjoy the workouts, the adventures, and the parties without missing a beat.
This is not a luxury cruise or a sit-back sightseeing tour. This is SurfYogaBeer in Egypt. Days start early with workouts, adventures, and lessons on the water. You will push yourself kitesurfing, diving, and exploring ancient temples, and still have energy left for games, parties, and late nights under the stars.
It is challenging, it is social, and it is non-stop. If you bring an open mind, good vibes, and a willingness to jump in, you can absolutely handle it.
