northern delights
A week deep in Finnish Lapland, run out of one cozy arctic lodge. Snowmobiles and huskies by day, the northern lights over your head by night, and a crew that turns it all into the trip of the year.
wait, what
is this exactly?
Fair question. Here is the short version. You and the crew post up at one hand-picked lodge on the edge of the wilderness in the far north of Finnish Lapland, about as deep into the Arctic as you can get. No packing and re-packing every night, no living out of a bus. One warm basecamp, and the whole frozen north as your backyard.
Every day the lodge sends you out on a different adventure and reels you back in for a hot dinner and a sauna. Snowmobiles one day, huskies the next, reindeer after that. You do not need to be an athlete. You just need to be up for the cold, the dark, and a very good time in it.
meet the basecamp
Home for the week is a cozy, hand-picked lodge tucked into the trees on the edge of Lake Inari, about 45 minutes from the nearest airport and a world away from everything else. Wood-lined rooms, big windows onto the snow, and the northern lights right outside when the sky decides to play.
There is a proper restaurant cooking arctic food every night, a sauna to melt the cold out of you, and a fire that never really goes out. You get your cold-weather kit the moment you land, so all you carry is yourself. Warm base, wild everywhere else.
but here is the
syb part
Most trips up here are either bucket-list box-ticking or quiet, keep-to-yourself wellness. Ours is neither. This is SurfYogaBeer, so the adventure comes with a crew and a very good time.
Think saunas and snow plunges after a day on the sleds, long dinners with way too much food, drinks by the fire, aurora over your head, and the kind of nights that turn a lodge full of strangers into a proper family. You will come for the lights. You will stay for the people.
the days look
something like this
snowmobile safari
A quick lesson, then throttle out across frozen lakes and untouched forest with a warm fire and lunch waiting.
husky sledding
Take the reins of your own team and race across the snow. It is loud, it is fast, and the dogs love it more than you do.
meet the reindeer
Time with local Sami herders and their reindeer, learning how life actually works this far north. Feed them from your hand.
chase the lights
Head out into the dark, away from every light for miles, and wait for the sky to catch fire. When it goes, it is unreal.
sauna and snow
The real arctic reset. Get hot in the sauna, roll into the snow, do it again. You will feel unreasonably good.
the crew
Come solo, leave with a family. Most people arrive on their own. By day two you have got people.
the rough
game plan
Five days in the far north, all from one basecamp. Here is roughly how a week tends to flow.
land in the arctic
Fly into Ivalo, get picked up, and settle into the lodge about 45 minutes away. Pull on your cold-weather kit, meet the crew over a welcome dinner, and catch your first aurora if the sky is willing.
snowmobile day
A driving lesson, then off into the wilderness on the sleds. Frozen lakes, open forest, and a fire-cooked lunch out in the middle of nowhere.
huskies and reindeer
Mush your own husky team across the snow in the morning, then spend the afternoon with Sami herders and their reindeer. Two of the north's best in one day.
snowshoe and a proper feast
Snowshoe out through silent forest, then clean up for a five-course dinner at Restaurant Aanaar. Head back out late to hunt the lights one more time.
one last cold morning
Slow breakfast, last look at the snow, then a transfer back to Ivalo. You leave with frozen eyelashes and a group chat that never really goes quiet.
A sample flow, not a fixed schedule. This far north, the weather and the aurora always get the final say.

Full honesty: this one is fresh off the drawing board. The dates, the price, and the exact lineup are all still being locked in. What is already certain is the place, the lights, and the kind of trip only SurfYogaBeer would run. Get on the list and you will be first to know when it drops.
be first
on the list
This one is going to move. Dates and pricing are still cooking, and spots will be limited when they drop. Get on the waitlist and you will hear it here first, before it goes out to anyone else.
No commitment. Just the first heads up when northern delights goes live for 2027.
