Presidents Day 2027 is Monday, February 15. SYB has three group trips over the long weekend: a singles surf week in Nicaragua, a ski week in Zermatt and a volcano week in Guatemala.

When is Presidents Day weekend in 2027?

Presidents Day is Monday, February 15, 2027. The long weekend runs Saturday, February 13 to Monday, February 15. Valentine's Day is the Sunday.

Which SYB trips run over Presidents Day weekend?

Three. A singles only surf week in Nicaragua from February 13 to 18, a ski week in Zermatt, Switzerland from February 13 to 19, and a volcano and lake week in Guatemala from February 9 to 15, which ends on Presidents Day.

How many vacation days do I need?

With Presidents Day off: three for Nicaragua (Tuesday to Thursday), four for Zermatt (Tuesday to Friday) and four for Guatemala (Tuesday to Friday the week before).

Is the Nicaragua week really singles only?

Yes. February 13 to 18 is for single travelers only. It is not a matchmaking trip. If you are coupled up, the week before, February 8 to 13, is open to everyone.

How much do they cost?

Nicaragua is from $1,950 shared or $2,650 private, for 5 nights. Zermatt is from $3,850 shared or $4,450 private, for 6 nights with a 5 day lift pass. Guatemala is from $2,950 shared or $3,650 private, for 6 nights. Some room types sell out first, and the cards on this page show what is still open. Flights are extra. A 20% deposit holds your spot.

Do I need to know how to surf or ski?

Not for Nicaragua: surf lessons are included and first timers start on the sand. Zermatt is listed for all levels and the group splits by level and pace, but ski lessons are not included.

Which airports do I fly into?

Nicaragua: Managua (MGA), about a 2.5 hour drive, with group shuttles included if you land by 2:00 PM. Zermatt: Zurich (ZRH) or Geneva (GVA), then a train of roughly three to four hours, which is not included. Guatemala: Guatemala City (GUA), with a shuttle to Antigua if you land before 2pm.

What happens if I have to cancel?

Cancel more than 45 days before the trip starts and everything you have paid becomes trip credit, good toward any SYB trip within 12 months. Inside 45 days, payments are non-refundable. Travel and medical insurance is required.
