Top 3 iconic moments

Three things you will do on this trip that you will still be talking about years later.

01SurfYogaBeer skier above Zermatt with the Matterhorn behindStanding under the Matterhorn

The most photographed mountain on earth is right there all week, from the lift line and from the dinner table. Ride to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise at 12,740 feet and see a view most people only ever get in photos.

02SurfYogaBeer crew at a long terrace lunch on the Italian side of the ski areaLunch on the Italian side

The ski area runs across the border, so a group usually clicks in on the Swiss side and finishes lunch on a sunny terrace in Cervinia. Pasta, a spritz, then ski back to Switzerland for apres.

03Zermatt village lit up at dusk under the MatterhornApres in a car free village

Boots off at the mountainside bars, then the walk down cobbled streets with no traffic and no taxis to fight over. Fondue, wine, and a group that already feels like family by Tuesday.

📅 The day by day

Seven days. Every single one of them optional.

Chalets and skiers in the car free village of Zermatt
Day 1Arrival in Zermatt

Train up the valley, check in, pick up your rental gear if you didn't bring your own, then happy hour and a welcome dinner.

The full day

Fly into Zurich or Geneva, then take the train up the valley. Zermatt is car free, so the last stretch is a window seat through the Alps and none of the rental car nonsense. Check in, pick up your rental gear if you didn't bring your own, then meet the crew at 5pm for happy hour drinks and a welcome dinner with everyone at one table.

Day 2First tracks

Split into groups by pace and find out what everyone can do.

The full day

Big breakfast and a quick mountain briefing, then we split into groups by pace and go find out what everyone can do. Long lunch at a mountain hut, laps all afternoon, and apres before the boots come off.

Day 3Go high

Up to 12,740 feet, the highest lift served point in Europe.

The full day

The big one. Up to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise at 12,740 feet, the highest lift served point in Europe, then a long run all the way back down toward the village. Dinner in town with whoever you have adopted by now.

Day 4Theme day on the mountain

Costumes on the chairlift. Same skiing, more chaos.

The full day

An SYB tradition that makes zero sense and works every time. Costumes on the chairlift, strangers cheering from the lift line, and photos you will be explaining for years. Same skiing, more chaos.

SurfYogaBeer crew at apres ski with spritz in hand
Day 5Italy for lunch

Ski into Italy for pasta, then ski back. Bring your passport.

The full day

The ski area crosses the border, so a group usually skis over to Cervinia on the Italian side for pasta and a spritz in the sun, then skis back to Switzerland. Bring your passport. Prefer to stay put and lap your favourite run instead? Do that.

Day 6Last day and the goodbye

One more full day on the hill, then the farewell dinner and the awards.

The full day

One more full day on the hill, then the farewell dinner and our very serious awards ceremony. Nobody goes to bed early.

Day 7Departure day

One last breakfast, then the train back down the valley.

The full day

One last breakfast, hugs, and the train back down the valley. Not goodbye, just see you on the next one, because the group chat does not stop.

Every day is optional. Ski all of it, or sleep in and meet us for apres.

FAQs

Because it is way more than a week of skiing. You get one of the biggest ski areas in the Alps, a car free village at the foot of the Matterhorn, daily ski meetups so nobody rides alone, apres that starts on the slope, and a crew of sixteen who will be in your group chat for years.

Most people come solo and leave with lifelong friends.

Absolutely, and most people do. Shared rooms are matched for you, meals are together, and the ski groups mean you are never standing at the lift wondering who to ride with. By day two nobody is solo.

People who want mountains, movement, social energy and a week that does not feel like a normal vacation. Most guests are late 20s to early 40s and come from cities all over the world. Some ski hard, some are newer to it, everyone shows up with a good attitude.

Yes. Five days of skiing at altitude is a real week for your legs, plus walking a village that runs on foot. We send a pre trip training program so you are ready.

That said, you set your own pace. Take a slow morning, ride up just for the view, or sit in the sun with a beer and watch the Matterhorn do its thing.

Ski trip meets alpine village party meets big group dinner. One moment you are dropping into a wide open run at 12,000 feet, the next you are in ski boots at an outdoor bar with the whole crew, and then it is fondue and cobbled streets after dark.

High energy, social, active, and ridiculously fun.

Up to you. Bring your own setup if you have one. If not, Zermatt is full of rental shops in the village and we will point you to the one we use. You can also add a full ski or snowboard rental package to your booking at checkout.

The trip is based in Zermatt, Switzerland, a car free village at the foot of the Matterhorn.

We ski the Zermatt side all week, including a day up to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise at 12,740 feet, and the ski area connects over the border to Cervinia in Italy, so a group usually skis across for lunch.

Yes. Zermatt is one of the most established ski destinations in the world and is very safe for travelers. Two SYB leaders are on the ground all week handling logistics, lift passes, dinners and group communication so you can focus on the skiing.

Travel and medical insurance is required for this trip.

Yes. Our crew shoots throughout the week so you can leave your phone in your pocket and stay present. First lifts, apres, group dinners and all the stuff nobody plans. Photos land in the group chat after the trip.

If you like the idea of skiing or riding every day, a village with no cars, apres with people who are actually fun, and meeting a crew you did not have last month, probably yes.

You do not need to come with friends and you do not need to be an expert skier. You need to be up for it.
