sleigh the fjords
A week living aboard a sailboat in Norway's fjords. Hike up and ski untouched lines by day, sail to the next peak, and party with the crew by night. Our wildest trip yet, done the only way we know how.
wait, what
is this exactly?
Fair question. Here is the short version. You and the crew live aboard a sailboat for the whole week, sailing the Norwegian fjords. The boat is your hotel, your basecamp, and your bar all in one. You sleep on it, eat on it, and wake up somewhere new every morning.
Each day the boat drops you at the foot of a different mountain. You hike your way up on skis, then ride untouched backcountry powder all the way back down to the water. No lifts. No crowds. No two days the same. You do not need to be a pro, but you should be comfortable on your skis and up for a proper adventure.

meet the boat
Home for the week is a classic wooden expedition sailboat that has spent years running exactly this kind of trip through the Sunnmore fjords. It is cozy, it is warm, and it goes places no hotel ever could.
Below deck there is a proper galley with a chef cooking every meal, a snug wood-lined saloon for long dinners and card games, and bunks to crash in after a big day. Up top, the deck is your front-row seat to the fjords. This is an intimate one by nature. You are living on a boat with your crew, so the group stays tight and the vibe stays close.
but here is the
syb part
Most trips out here are hardcore expeditions or quiet wellness retreats. Ours is neither. This is SurfYogaBeer, so the adventure comes with a crew and a very good time.
Think saunas and cold plunges after the skiing, long dinners with way too much food, cold beers on deck, aurora over your head, and the kind of nights that turn a boat full of strangers into a proper family. You will come for the fjords. You will stay for the people.
the days look
something like this
hike up, ski down
Skin to the summit under your own steam, then ride untouched backcountry lines straight down to the water.
live aboard
Your floating hotel and basecamp. Sleep on the boat, wake up in a new fjord every single day.
sauna and plunge
The real nordic reset. Get hot, hit the cold water, do it again. You will feel unreasonably good.
long dinners
Way too much food, cold beers, and the stories that only get better after a big day out.
the crew
Come solo, leave with a family. Most people arrive on their own. By day two you have got people.
northern lights
If the sky decides to put on a show, we will be out on deck watching it happen.
the rough
game plan
Eight days, five nights on the boat, two on the mainland. Here is how a week tends to flow.
land in Ålesund
Fly in, meet the crew, and settle in with a trip briefing and an avalanche refresher. Loosen up the travel legs with a sauna and a cold plunge, then an easy first night.
welcome aboard
Move onto the boat, load up the provisions, and sail out for your first taste of fjord life. This is home now.
into the fjords, first tour
Sail deeper into the mountains and click into the first ski tour. Skin up, ski back down to the water, big grins all round.
a proper alpine day
Tour a classic Sunnmore peak. Earn the summit, soak up the fjord views, then ride it all the way back down.
keep exploring
New anchorage, new lines. We chase the best snow and weather and see what the day gives us.
the big mission
A bigger, more remote objective for the crew feeling strong. The kind of day you talk about for years.
swap skis for surf
Change of pace on the coast. We are still SurfYogaBeer, after all, so there is a good chance boards come out.
sail home
Last breakfast aboard, sail back to the mainland, long goodbyes, and a group chat that never really goes quiet.
A sample flow, not a fixed schedule. On a boat, the snow, the sea, and the weather always get the final say.

Everything is handled, planned, and led by people who do this for a living. You do not organize a thing. That is the whole point of an SYB trip, and it is what our people rave about most.
Full honesty: this one is fresh off the drawing board. The dates, the price, and the crew leading it are all still being locked in. What is already certain is the terrain, the boat, and the kind of trip only SurfYogaBeer would run. Get on the list and you will be first to know when it drops.
be first
on the list
This one is going to move. Dates and pricing are still cooking, and spots will be limited when they drop. Get on the waitlist and you will hear it here first, before it goes out to anyone else.
No commitment. Just the first heads up when sleigh the fjords goes live for 2027.
