Surf the coast and shred the sand

No holding back; we've made this trip eight days because we're doing it ALL. We've included all transportation as we hit up all the corners of this country: from the surfing waves on the coast to riding ATVs through the desert, we're doing it all. We can proudly say we've been doing this trip since 2018, and we're ready to give your senses a whiff of something new! Sleep deep in the desert under the stars at a luxurious glampsite, camel ride into the sunset, ATV across the rolling dunes, surf Africa's crystal waves, tour YSL's house, grub on local cuisine by the fire with live drums over a full moon. This, without a doubt, is the ultimate itinerary for those seeking a one-of-a-kind experience. Everything you didn't know is waiting, so here's looking at you, kid!

Sometimes you go to a place, and if you’re lucky, sometimes a place takes you somewhere else. And then, if you’re really lucky, it takes you along with others. We celebrated birthdays & sang songs, bargained & bonded, danced & dined as strangers in a strange land — only to become familiar & thick as thieves. The experience doesn’t exist without those to share it with; it was filled with laughter & emotional connection. Feelings that won’t be replicated, because they exist in a fleeting state that defies all explanation. I’m so grateful that @surfyogabeer curated a very cool experience for 53 of us. That’s every card in the deck, plus a joker. Whoever that is, I’ll let you Guess Who. I’m grateful for all of you who made this trip what it was. I’m happy that you got to enjoy it as well & I hope you know that the Medina experience, camel ride, dinners, surf lessons, hot air balloon, liquor store pillage, early morning runs, sunning sessions, yoga practices, impromptu tour facts, primal squats, desert screams, garden strolls, tea ceremonies & icecapades would have been hollow without truly special people to share it with. I think we’re all taking a little bit of the desert home with us, but I’m glad to call home wherever I find the pieces of you in my memory when I let joy flow within me. 🫶 Don’t Think, Just Do 🐪 #sybmorocco

SYB Morocco 🇲🇦 . There are NO words. The sheer magic of these trips is all in diving head first and coming out with so many memories and 50+ amazing new friends. From literal champagne 🍾 showers to surfing 🏄‍♀️, from riding camels 🐫 to riding high in hot air balloons 🎈, it was truly an adventure I will never forget! #sybmorocco

As always this is the highlight reel, but the more I travel and experience different cultures the real highlight is beginning to see more and more similarities among us. While we all approach things differently, we all are really just playing a little part in something so much bigger than ourselves 🌍 (thank you @juliana.jpg for those words❤️). I hope we all can start to look for more of those similarities as we interact with the world and people around us. Incredible week meeting, connecting, adventuring, caring, exploring and truly just being with people from all walks of life. On to the next adventure ✈️ #SYBMorocco

@francisdolloway

It’s safe to say we all fell in LOVE ❤️ with the Moroccan culture! We danced our hearts out to local music, we watched the sunrise at 4AM while riding camels 🐫, and we rode ATV’s and sand-boarded across the Sahara sand! Unforgettable memories and friendships that will last a lifetime = a SYB success!

Stepping way outside my comfort zone! From sand surfing to actual surfing.

The highlight of the trip was riding out into the Sahara desert and spending time with the Berbers. They brought us in and treated us like their own. They dressed us, introduced us to their cuisine, music, and traditions. They taught me about their strong Jewish lineage. They even offered me a spot on their drum-line. 🥁 - We get so caught up in our daily grind that we forget there’s a whole world out there. Learn and experience how other people live. I promise it will teach you more about yourself than you realize. 🇲🇦

I don’t know if any life experience will beat staying up all night in the Sahara desert and then going on a 5AM camel ride to watch the sunrise 🌅🐫 Thankful for the opportunity and even happier about the memories that were made 💕•

GETTING THERE

Arrive to Agadir Al-Massira International Airport (not Casablanca, this is Agadir) anytime before 2pm on the 1st to catch the SYB transport to our beach destination. If you arrive later please inform us before hand and we'll help you arrange a taxi. It is about an hour drive from the airport.

COMING HOME
We will finish in Marrakesh and you can take any flight that suits you.

The first three nights we're in Taghazout, followed by one night in Marrakesh and the remainder of the trip in the Lalla Takerkoust desert.

The Moroccan dirham (MAD) is the official currency of Morocco. USD and Euros are valid forms of currency in the country.

We suggest bringing $300 to $400 to use at bars and a few of our meals out, but otherwise, we've got you covered!

ATMs are widely available in Morocco, but we suggest withdrawing money in your home country to avoid international withdrawal fees.

We will provide dinners for the entire trip, but a few lunches won't be as we'll be wandering the markets in Marrakech or chilling by the pool in Taghazout Bay; it's up to you what you want!

Alcohol is not included, but impress your new friends and get bottle service for all!!

Moroccan cuisine is a mix of Arab, Mediterranean, sub-Saharan and some European influences, but it primarily aligns with traditional Arab cuisine.

Morocco is a large producer of fruits such as oranges, grapefruits, lemons, melons, plums, apricots, grapes, figs, and dates, and various vegetables such as potatoes, onions, zucchini, carrots, and pumpkin.

Spices and ras el hanout are incredibly common in Moroccan cooking, alongside fresh herbs.

Try tagine, kefta or anything using local spices and herbs for a flavour profile, unlike anything you may have tried!

While staying in Taghazout Bay, we are just steps away from a surf school. So wander on down to take two surf lessons during our time here! You'll be a pro in no time with your two included surf lessons.

This experience is included in trip fees.

We will be riding ATVs twice - once on the beach and once on the dunes. This way, we get our footing on our first beachfront trip, but then we take it to the desert and rip through the dunes like pros!

This experience is included in trip fees.

After a late night, you may not want to wake up and join us for a workout, but we highly suggest it! Included in your trip, the boot camps and yoga sessions keep us energized - there is nothing better than waking up and sweating with your new friends! Our world-class trip leaders know how to start your day the best way, with a good workout to prime us for a day of adventuring.

This experience is included in trip fees.

We will be doing a few cultural tours while in Morocco, from a tour of the Marrakech nightlife to the stunning YSL Garden and Museum to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Benhaddou to the world-famous souks (markets) in Marrakech, we will be perfectly mixing culture with once in a lifetime adventures and fitness.

These experiences are included in trip fees.

We're taking hump day to a whole new level. Imagine a pack of your new friends riding camels through the desert with the world's largest dunes surrounding you. There truly is nothing more picturesque. This included experience is one in a lifetime, and the crowd of your friends from SYB will make this experience nothing but what you've dreamed about.

This experience is included in trip fees.

No need to whip out your phone or camera at any point throughout this trip because we have got you covered. We will have a professional photographer and videographer joining us on this trip to capture every moment. These will be the best travel photos and videos you will ever get - you're friends better be ready for a photo dump out of their wildest dreams!!

We highly recommend you get travel and/or medical insurance. This is just for emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.

Fly into the country's southern Atlantic coast to Agadir Al-Massira International Airport (AGA). Agadir is located in the foothills of the Anti-Atlas Mountains. It is known for its exports of citrus fruit, vegetables, and fresh fish at the country's most vital fishing port. Agadir is also known for being Morocco's best beaches and beautiful warm Atlantic water for swimming & surfing. In-land from Agadir is the stunning Marrakech, known for its world-class souks (markets) with unique rugs, leather goods, silverware, pottery and local delicacies found in abundance. Aside from markets and rich cultural histories in Marrakech, the nightlife is to die for - known for mixes of western and Moroccan-inspired music. The Lalla Takerkoust desert is also known as the "Desert of Marrakech," is a unique desert landscape located just outside of Marrakech. We're going to takeover, true SYB style.

Drinking water from the tap is generally done by locals, but absolutely not for us travellers. Here, we stick to filtered and bottled water. But don't worry, we will constantly ensure that we have safe drinking water!

Morocco is a safe country for tourists. However, pickpocketing and scammers can be expected. Our accommodations will have safes for us to leave our valuables in, and we suggest leaving all important items in the safe while we are out exploring - but maybe keep your Yeezys and nice jewelry at home!

We suggest reading about cultural differences in Morocco to attempt to respect locals and immerse yourself in local culture.
