The trip runs from November 26 - December 1, 2026.
That’s 6 days and 5 nights in Playa Maderas.
The trip officially begins at 6:00 PM.
We’ll organize transportation shuttles to get you from the airport to our villas, so no stress there.
You have two main options:
- Managua, Nicaragua (MGA) – about a 2.5 hour drive
- Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) – about a 3 hour drive with a border crossing
We recommend flying into Managua (MGA) if possible.
Try to land by 3:00 PM on arrival day so you can catch a group shuttle. We’ll build the shuttle schedule based on everyone’s flight times.
If your flight doesn’t line up, we can connect you with a trusted driver. Private transfers typically cost $125–$200 per vehicle and can fit up to four people.
For departure, we’ll organize shuttles based on flight times. Just make sure your flight is no earlier than 12:00 PM. If you’re leaving earlier, you’ll need to arrange your own transport, but we can help coordinate with others.
About six weeks before the trip, we’ll send a check-in form to collect your flight details, passport info, and anything else we need to get you there smoothly.
For most travelers, no visa is required for short stays.
You may need to pay a small entry fee on arrival and have a valid passport. We’ll send exact details after booking based on your nationality.
Yes, travel and medical insurance is required. You must secure it before joining the program. If you choose not to purchase insurance, you accept full responsibility and agree to our cancellation policy.
To reserve your spot, a 20% deposit is required. This goes toward your total payment. The remaining balance is due six weeks before the program start date.
If you cancel more than 45 days before the program begins, you’ll receive trip credit that can be used toward any future SYB trip within 12 months.
If you cancel within 45 days, your payment is non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions.
We do not offer refunds for any reason. Travel insurance helps protect your investment if anything unexpected happens. It’s worth it.

Welcome to Nicaragua, SYB-style.
This is a 6-day, 5-night mix of surf, fitness, yoga, adventure, and community, set in the laid-back beauty of Playa Maderas.
From the moment you land, you’re taken care of. We pick you up, make the scenic drive to the villas, and before long you’re dropping your bags and heading straight toward the ocean. Dinner that first night sets the tone, and it doesn’t take long before the group starts to feel like a crew.
From there, the rhythm of the week kicks in.
Mornings start with movement. You might go for a beach workout, a boxing session, a lift in the jungle gym, or yoga overlooking the waves. Then it’s breakfast together, followed by surf. Whether you’re learning or already comfortable in the water, sessions are coached and built for your level.
Afternoons are open in the best way. Lounge by the pool, head into town, get a second session in, or just slow things down. There’s always something going on, but never pressure to do it all.
As the sun drops, everyone comes back together. Sunset hangs, group dinners, and a mix of nights out and themed nights back at the villas. Some are more relaxed, some pick up a bit, but it always feels natural.
Midweek, we switch things up with a boat day. Music on, drinks flowing, snorkeling, exploring hidden beaches, and a long sunset cruise along the coast. It’s one of those days people talk about long after the trip.
Throughout the week, everything stays close and easy. Same villas, same crew, no packing up or moving around. That’s what makes it all feel connected.
Between surf, workouts, shared meals, and nights out, the group dynamic builds quickly. By the end of the week, it doesn’t feel like a group anymore.
It feels like you’ve known these people for a while.
On the final night, we come together one last time. Dinner, stories, a few toasts, and a chance to take it all in before heading back the next morning.
You leave with:
- Better surf, no matter your starting point
- A body that feels good from a full week of movement
- A solid group of new friends
- And a set of memories that tend to stick
