Land in Lisbon by 2pm on Monday 5 July and our bus takes you to Locke de Santa Joana, home for two nights. We kick off with a light shake-out and mobility session, welcome drinks and your swag, then happy hour and dinner at the hotel with the whole crew.
Day two starts with a hotel workout and a free morning in Lisbon. After lunch the bus takes us to Azeitão for a private tour of the Bacalhôa winery and museum and a tasting with Azeitão cheese, bread and charcuterie. Dinner in Lisbon, then Bairro Alto, Cais do Sodré and Pink Street for anyone who wants to stay out.
Day three is a guided quad bike ride through the forest and along the coast in Sintra, lunch in town, and the bus south to Vila Galé Lagos, our base for four nights. Welcome to Lagos drinks, then a group dinner in Lagos Old Town.
The Lagos days are the good stuff: two coached surf sessions, a guided kayak tour into the grottos, a full day on a private catamaran around Ponta da Piedade and Alvor with lunch and drinks on board, a workout every morning, pool and spa time, and two theme parties at the hotel, Surfside Disco and Casino Royale. Closing yoga and awards on the last night, farewell breakfast and the bus to Lisbon airport on Sunday 11 July.
GETTING THERE: Fly into Lisbon Airport (LIS) and land by 2pm on Monday 5 July. Our bus leaves the airport for the hotel and check in is at 3pm. Land later and we will point you at a taxi or Uber to the hotel, it is about 20 minutes.
GETTING HOME: Fly out of Lisbon (LIS) on Sunday 11 July. Our bus leaves Vila Galé Lagos at 8am and arrives at the airport by 11am, so book anything departing after 2pm.
ON THE TRIP: Every transfer between Lisbon, Azeitão, Sintra and Lagos is on our private bus. The surf beach, the kayak launch and the boat are a short drive from the hotel and all of it is handled.
Please wait for your booking confirmation before you buy flights, then send us your flight details.
Yes, and a lot of people do. Land Sunday 4 July, sleep off the overnight flight, and have a morning in Lisbon before the crew arrives. We can add an early night at Locke de Santa Joana to your booking, ask us once you have booked and we will sort the room and the price.
Travel and medical insurance is required for every guest. We will ask for proof of coverage before the trip.
Bookings are non refundable, because spots are limited and both hotels are held for us months in advance. If you cancel more than 45 days before the trip you receive trip credit toward a future SurfYogaBeer trip. Inside 45 days the booking is forfeited, which is exactly what the insurance is for.
Two bases. Lisbon for two nights, with a day trip to the Bacalhôa winery in Azeitão and a quad bike morning in Sintra on the way south. Then Lagos in the western Algarve for four nights, with the surf beach, the grottos and the boat day around Ponta da Piedade and Alvor all within a short drive of the hotel.
The trip starts Monday 5 July 2027 in Lisbon and ends Sunday 11 July 2027 at Lisbon airport. Seven days, six nights: two in Lisbon, four in Lagos.
Breakfast is included every morning at both hotels. In Lagos there is a beach lunch after each of the two surf sessions, and lunch and drinks are on board on the boat day.
Included dinners: the welcome dinner at the hotel in Lisbon, and dinners at the hotel in Lagos on the surf night, the boat night and the awards night. Dinner out in Lisbon on night two and in Lagos Old Town on night three are on you, as are lunches in Lisbon and Sintra.
Drinks: welcome drinks on arrival, welcome to Lagos drinks, happy hour at both theme parties, and drinks on the boat. Drinks on nights out in town are on you.
Lisbon, two nights: Locke de Santa Joana, a 17th century convent turned design hotel near Marquês de Pombal, with a courtyard pool, a gym, and its own restaurants and bars downstairs.
Lagos, four nights: Vila Galé Lagos, a four star resort on Meia Praia beach with a huge outdoor pool, a spa with an indoor heated pool, sauna and Turkish bath, a gym and a pool bar. Both theme parties are here too.
A Shared Spot is a room with two separate beds at both hotels, matched with someone of the same gender, and you pick girls or boys at checkout. A Private Spot is a room to yourself at both hotels with one big bed.
Yes. Both hotels provide towels, bed linen and free Wi-Fi. Vila Galé Lagos is a full service resort with rooms serviced through the week. Locke de Santa Joana is an aparthotel, so for our two nights your room is set up fresh for arrival.
Yes. Portugal is consistently ranked one of the safest countries in Europe. Every activity runs with a licensed local operator, the surf lessons are with certified instructors, the boat is a licensed charter, and your three SYB leaders are with you all week. Use normal city sense in Lisbon at night and you are fine.
Portugal uses the euro. Cards and Apple Pay work almost everywhere, including small cafés, and ATMs are easy to find in Lisbon and Lagos. Bring a little cash for markets, tips and the odd bar. Tipping is not expected the way it is in the US, rounding up or leaving five to ten percent at dinner is generous.
Tap water is safe to drink everywhere we go. Bring a reusable bottle, the sun is strong in July and you will want it on the bus, at the beach and on the boat.
A private tour of the Bacalhôa winery and museum with a tasting of the Setúbal Peninsula's wines and Azeitão cheese, a guided quad bike ride through Sintra's forest and coastline, an evening in Bairro Alto and Cais do Sodré, Lagos Old Town, and a boat day past the cliffs and grottos of Ponta da Piedade. Plus pastéis de nata, obviously.
Something every morning: a shake-out and mobility session on arrival day, a hotel workout and a guided run in Lisbon, beach workouts and beach games in Lagos, two coached surf sessions, a kayak tour, and closing yoga on the last afternoon.
All of it is optional. Nothing needs training, the surf instructors split the group by level, and the hotel in Lagos has a pool, a spa and a gym for the mornings you skip.
Yes, and most people do. Roughly three out of four spots go to someone booking on their own. Between the morning workouts, the bus rides, the boat and two theme parties, the group forms fast. By day two nobody remembers who came with who.
Yes. We shoot the whole week and send the gallery afterwards. The light on that coast at golden hour is unreal, so you will want them.
Sweat in the morning, sun in the afternoon, party at night. Lisbon is the city half, Lagos is the coast half, and it is very much both. Pack an outfit for Surfside Disco and one for Casino Royale, bring a wetsuit friendly attitude, and come ready to go out. If you are after a quiet retreat, this is not the one. If you are after the best week of your summer, it is.
