We officially kick off at 5:00 PM on February 13, 2027, when you meet the crew over happy hour drinks, shake off the travel and get straight into it.
We wrap up on the morning of February 19, 2027. One last breakfast, final goodbyes, and you are free to fly home or keep the European adventure rolling.
GETTING THERE: Fly into Zurich (ZRH) or Geneva (GVA). From either airport the Swiss train network takes you straight to Zermatt, usually with one change at Visp or Brig. It is roughly three to four hours and the last stretch up the valley is worth the window seat. Everyone lands at different times so airport transfers are not included, but we connect the group in the weeks before so you can travel in together.
COMING HOME: Head out from Zermatt whenever you are ready on the morning of February 19. Give yourself plenty of time for the train back to the airport.
LOCAL TRANSPORT: Zermatt is car free. The village is walkable end to end, and electric taxis and the village e-bus cover anything further.
Hotel Jagerhof, a 3 star right in Zermatt village. Old alpine wood, a proper ski room downstairs so your gear dries out overnight instead of living in your room, and a free transfer from Zermatt station if you land between 8am and 9pm.
Breakfast every morning before you hit the mountain, a restaurant for the easy nights, and the Jagerbar with a real fireplace for when your legs are done. There is a fitness room too, if you are that person.
Shared spot puts you in a twin room with a fellow SYBer. Private room is the same room with a Matterhorn view balcony, all yours. Rooming goes out in the group chat before we fly.
What is included: breakfast every morning at the hotel before you hit the mountain, plus a welcome dinner and a farewell dinner with the whole crew.
What is not included: lunches are on your own so you can pick your mountain hut, and the other dinners are yours to explore the village with whoever you end up with. Alcohol is not included in the trip package.
All levels. Zermatt has one of the biggest ski areas in the Alps, with long, wide cruisers for anyone still finding their feet and enough steep, high alpine terrain to keep strong skiers busy all week.
We split into groups based on level and pace, so you are always riding with people who ski like you. Brand new? Book a lesson in the village and meet the crew for apres. Nobody rides alone unless they want to.
Plans change, we get it. Cancel more than 45 days before the trip starts and 100% of what you've paid, deposit included, becomes trip credit you can use toward any SYB trip within 12 months.
To reserve your spot, a 20% deposit is required. It goes toward your total, and the remaining balance is due six weeks before the trip starts.
If you cancel within 45 days of departure, your payment is non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions, and we do not offer cash refunds for any reason.
Travel and medical insurance is required, and you must secure it before joining the program. It's the best way to protect your investment if life happens. Worth it.
We have got you covered. All included breakfasts and group dinners are coordinated with our venues to meet dietary needs. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and other common restrictions are no problem. Options at the high altitude mountain huts during ski lunches can be more limited than down in the village.
Pro tip: tell us about specific needs as early as possible so we can arrange it ahead of time.
Zermatt, Switzerland: a car free alpine village at the foot of the Matterhorn and one of the most famous ski towns in the world. Cobbled streets, electric taxis, and that mountain staring at you from basically everywhere.
The mountain: Zermatt's ski area is huge and sits high, with lifts climbing to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise at 12,740 feet, the highest lift served point in Europe. Terrain runs from mellow cruisers to serious high alpine lines.
Italy, if you feel like it: the ski area connects over the border to Cervinia on the Italian side, so an Italian lunch is a lift ride away. Bring your passport.
Passports: make sure yours is valid for at least 6 months past your travel dates. Switzerland is in the Schengen area, and most travelers do not need a visa for a short stay, but check the rules for your passport.
Lift pass: your 6 day lift pass is included in the trip package. We sort it, you just ski.
Skiing into Italy: carry your passport on the mountain if you plan to ski across to Cervinia, and check with us first about the international pass.
Up to you. If you have your own setup, bring it. If not, Zermatt is full of rental shops in the village and we will point you to the one we use. You can also add a full ski or snowboard rental package to your booking at checkout.
Yes. Our hotel has ski storage, so your gear stays downstairs and dries out overnight instead of living in your room.
Absolutely, and we actually recommend it.This trip is your chance to show up as your truest, most adventurous self. No baggage, no expectations, no old routines. When you come solo, you open yourself up to deeper connections, new experiences, and a crew that becomes instant family. We totally get that it can feel intimidating at first, but trust us, this is the best way to do it. Most of our guests come solo, and by day one, you won’t feel that way anymore.
Yes. Our crew shoots throughout the week so you can leave your phone in your pocket and stay present. First lifts, apres, group dinners, and all the stuff nobody plans.
Photos land in the group chat after the trip and yes, they will break it.
Zermatt is car free and compact, so it is a short walk from the village to the lift stations. If you would rather not walk in ski boots, the village e-bus loops through town and drops you at the base.
This is a mountain trip, not a spa week. Zermatt sits high, the weather does what it wants, and the days are long. Come ready for that and it will be one of the best weeks of your year.
Expect early lifts, daily ski meetups, long lunches at mountain huts, and apres that starts on the slope and finishes in the village. Skiing, snowboarding or just soaking it in, every day is full.
Evenings are the village: group dinners, fondue, bars that fill up with our crew, and nights that turn into stories.
You can always move at your own pace. Take a slow morning, ride up for the view, or sit in the sun with a beer and watch the Matterhorn do its thing.
